Yukon employers can apply for wage subsidies to hire post-secondary students for summer jobs in career-related fields of study.
The subsidy is $7.20 per hour, for 450 to 600 hours of employment.
Employers agree to pay their STEP workers according to the STEP wage scale, which is indexed to the Treasury Board of Canada's pay scale for post-secondary students. Non-Yukon Government employers may opt to pay higher wages.
