Summer School

GET AHEAD ON YOUR HIGH SCHOOL STUDIES
During July 2012, the Department of Education will be offering summer school courses for secondary students who have not successfully passed the final exam for a course and who wish to strengthen their skills in one of these core academic subjects:

English 8
English 9
English 10
English 11
Mathematics 8
Mathematics 9
Foundations of Math and Pre-calculus 10
Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics 10
Foundations of Math 11
Pre-Calculus 11
Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics 11
Principles of Math 12
English Language Learning Strategies –not for credit, for students willing to strengthen their skills. Also open to Grade 7 students entering into High School.

Courses will be offered based on a minimum of 6 students per class.
Fees for the above courses will be $150.00.
Students of Math and English 10 are required to write (or have written) the respective BC Provincial Exam. If students have already written the exam, they are not required to rewrite. However, if they wish to re-write, they may do so at one of the scheduled sittings at their school next year, October 2012, November 2012 or January 2013. The teacher will have information regarding these exams.
Class sizes will be limited in order to provide a high degree of individual instruction.
