School Council Conference

APRIL 16 – 18, 2009

The agenda for the Spring 2009 Yukon School Councils Conference is now being finalized!  The Westmark Whitehorse is booked.  The conference will begin with an evening session on Thursday followed by 2 full days ending at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Why should school council members attend?

  • This is a free twice-annual training opportunity to assist you with your work
  • The dialogue is thought-provoking and energizing.
  • The conference provides time to network and hear local solutions to your concerns.
  • Departmental officials are at the table to hear challenges, answer questions, and participate in discussions.
  • The food is tasty and healthy.

But don’t take my word for it… ask a participant from a previous conference!

Watch for more information in the coming weeks including the agenda, registration form, workshop information and sponsored travel details.  Think and talk about what your school council can contribute during the roundtable session.

Here are two challenges

  • Let’s see every school council and the Yukon francophone school board at the conference
  • fall 2008 conference participants bring a friend

Questions can be directed to me or Carol Coote, AYSCBC Executive Director at 867-633-2692 or email exec.director@ayscbc.org.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference.
