Funding opportunities

Labour Market Development Agreement

This fund is available for businesses, nonprofit organizations and other organizations to support training and employment opportunities for individual participants must be unemployed and eligible under the Employment Insurance program.

  • Employment Assistance Services: This program provides support to organizations to assist eligible participants with finding, obtaining and/or maintaining employment.
  • Job Creation Partnerships: This program provides support to create jobs that will provide meaningful work experience.
  • Targeted Wage Subsidy: This program encourages employers to hire participants who would not normally be hired due to a lack of work experience, to fill an existing position.

Employment Services and Supports

This program funds organizations that provide services to enhance employability, targeted at those who are not eligible under Employment Insurance programs under the Labour Market Development Agreement.

Community Training Fund

Regional Community Training Fund

  • These funds put local training decisions in the hands of the communities. Regional Training Fund Committees may include representatives from the municipal government, First Nation, Yukon College and community members.

Sectoral Community Training Fund

  • These funds meet the training needs of industrial or economic sectors. They are managed by committees made up of representatives with expertise in their sectors.

Projects Community Training Fund
These funds address immediate and specific training needs. Projects vary from year to year.

Community Training Fund supporting documents

Foundational Skills Program

This fund is for use by organizations to provide foundational skills programs and/or services for Yukon that support the goal of the Yukon Literacy Strategy . Applicants can be businesses, crown corporations, organizations, individuals, municipalities, First Nation organizations, governments and councils, public health and post-secondary educational institutions.
