High school students who would like to study a skilled trade may be eligible to register in an apprenticeship program while still attending high school.
You must be at least 16 years old and working in a trade under the supervision of a certified journeyperson.
You would normally work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. Your working hours can count towards your apprenticeship requirements and may fulfill the Community Connections component of the Graduation Transitions course.
After you complete high school, your apprenticeship agreement converts to regular apprentice training.
Contact your school counsellor or the Apprenticeship Office for more information.
