Teaching in the Catholic School System

The Catholic Schools of Whitehorse provide education in a Catholic environment based on Gospel values and the tradition of the Catholic Church. There are three Catholic schools, two elementary and one secondary, operated by the Public Schools Branch of the Government of the Yukon. 
Preference for teaching positions in the Catholic Schools of Whitehorse will be given to practicing Catholics with a commitment to excellence in Catholic education. This preference will be approved by the local Diocese based on review of the following documents:

  •  Teacher Faith Letter, completed by the candidate
  •  Catholic Pastoral Reference, completed by a Roman Catholic Pastor
  •  Baptismal Certificate, must be current

All documents must be current (dated within the past six months) and must be submitted to Human Resource Services. Once approval is received, these documents will remain on file for six months, and you will be identified as a Catholic candidate on Teacher postings. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that documents, and the approval for preference on competitions, are current.
