Experience and Qualifications :

- Bachelor of Education or equivalent degree, with specialization in primary education;

- proven record of successful teaching experience at primary grade levels;

- training and/or experience in the delivery of early literacy program initiatives;

- strong background and knowledge in teaching and assessment strategies in early literacy development;

- ability to work as a member of a team and to work collaboratively with the Reading Recoveryª teacher;

- relevant special education courses and experience working with special needs students;

- ability to work as a member of the school-based team and willingness to participate in the total school program;

- a knowledge of and sensitivity to the traditions and aspirations of First Nations students;

- a desire to live and work in a rural community.

NOTE: This is a continuing teaching position.
