APPLICATION INFORMATION
Thank you for your interest in teaching in Yukon. We encourage interested teachers to read the following information explaining where to find job postings, how to apply on those postings, and the process we implement in the selection of successful candidates.
WHERE TO FIND JOB POSTINGS:
You are in the right spot. Check the links listed on the right hand side.
Our recruitment process is competition driven. We do not accept general applications. Instead, we invite applications on individual postings only as they appear on our website.
Teaching positions are posted year round on this website; however, most postings occur in April, May and June. If you are actively seeking employment as a teacher, you are encouraged to monitor our website on a continual basis and apply on those postings which may be of interest to you.
HOW TO APPLY:

• Complete our application form indicating the Posting # on the upper right hand corner;
• Attach a covering letter with the Posting # clearly indicated;
• Attach a copy of your resume. Do not include documentation such as copies of Transcripts, Teaching Certificates, Evaluation Reports, Verification of Teaching Experience, Statements of Standing etc. Retain these supporting documents to present should you be considered for an interview.
• When applying on Postings to teach in our Catholic schools, you must include a current pastoral reference
, a current Teacher faith letter
and a current Baptismal Certificate with your application.
• Submit to the Teacher Recruitment Officer at the address at the bottom of the posting.
• We prefer applications by e-mail. Be sure to indicate the Posting # and your name in the subject line of your e-mail. This will allow us to enter your application on the correct posting in a timely manner.
• We also accept applications by fax, by mail, or in person.
• It is your responsibility to ensure your application is received by the closing date on the posting. If you apply by email, we will respond confirming receipt of your application.
• Only those applicants considered for interviews will be contacted.
SCREENING APPLICANTS
Candidates are screened for each posting by applying the following selection criteria:
- qualifications and experience criteria listed in the posting;
- the Staffing Protocol of April 1, 2009
;
- the addendum
for Catholic Schools (if applicable).
SELECTION OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
Candidates are assessed on education, experience, knowledge, skills/abilities and personal suitability. After all factors are taken into consideration, the most suitably qualified
candidate is selected.
