Yukon Energy Trades Program Scholarship

Award Amount:

2 annual scholarships of $1,000 each

Criteria:

  • Canadian citizen who has lived in the Yukon for at least one year;
  • First year student entering a trades pre-apprenticeship or entry level trades program at an accredited vocational school, community college, university college or institute in the following electrical industry programs:  heavy duty mechanic, industrial instrument mechanic, industrial mechanics (millwright), machinist, electrician, power line technician or electronics technician;
  • Must meet education requirements of the program selected; 
  • Proof of residency is required;
  • Studies must begin within six months of the award;
  • Previous Yukon Energy scholarship recipients are not eligible.

Documents Req:

  • Application form;
  • Letter of acceptance from accredited institution in Canada or Alaska;
  • Official transcript from high school, accredited post secondary institution or General Education Development (GED) test;
  • Proof of residency (Yukon health care card or driver's license);
  • Description of citizenship activities (i.e. school or community involvement, volunteer and extra curricular activities, work history, awards, important personal experiences)

Deadline Date:

June 30. If deadline falls on a weekend, applications must be postmarked or received by 4:30 pm previous business day.
