Teen Parent Access to Education Society Scholarship

Award Amount:

2 awards of $500.00 Annually (amount may vary)

Criteria:

  • Grade 12 student from a Yukon secondary school;
  • Accepted to an eligible institution in minimum 1 year program;
  • Single parent (maximum age 25);
  • Not eligible if recipient of another major scholarship of $500.00 or more.

Documents Req:

  • Official grade 12 transcript;
  • Letter of acceptance from the institution;
  • Covering letter outlining personal goals.

Deadline Date:

August 15

Preference in awarding the scholarship will be given to a graduate who has participated in the Teen Parent Centre program and completed the major portion of his/her training in the Yukon educational system. Preference will also be given to full-time students.  Both financial need and academic achievement will be taken into consideration.  In any given year, the committee may not award the scholarship if no suitable candidate has applied.
