2. John D. Scott Memorial Award

Criteria:

Yukon resident student (Yukon Health Insurance Plan card holder) entering into the second, third or fourth year (or fifth year if enrolled in a five year program) of a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board approved university engineering program.

Documents Req:

  • Official transcript from previous year of engineering program;
  • Letter from Dean of the Faculty of Engineering or Science confirming student's placement in top 25% of their class;
  • Essay not to exceed 150 words explaining why they should receive this award;
  • Provide information on non-academic community activities in which they participate or volunteer;
  • Names, addresses and telephone numbers of three persons to act as personal character references.

Deadline Date:

August 31

1. Jim Y.C. Quong Award is for a student who is Aboriginal (First Nation, Inuit or Metis) and/or female.  Applicants are asked to indicate their Aboriginal ancestry, if applicable.  If a candidate is not identified within this category, the award may be given to a suitable candidate.
 
2. John D. Scott Memorial Award is open to all Yukon engineering students.
