Award Amount:

2 new bursaries offered to 2 new students per year

$10,000/year for up to 4 years of medical school plus $15,000/year for up to 2 years during medical residency, Family Medicine ONLY

Criteria:

• Canadian citizen or landed immigrant; 
• Proof of current or previous residency in Yukon of at least three consecutive years within the last five years of having received the Yukon Grant provided by the Department of Education;
• Attending a recognized Canadian institution in an approved education program;
• An eligible person who starts medical education in a country other than Canada can become eligible for the bursary when and if they transfer into an approved Canadian medical education program.

Documents Req:

• Proof of current or previous residency in Yukon for 3 consecutive years of last 5 OR of having received the Yukon Grant;
• Copy of letter of acceptance into an approved health profession education program in Canada;
• Proof of Canadian citizenship or landed immigrant status; 
• Letter indicating interests in and/or commitment to health care services through personal employment, education or volunteer history including reference names and contact information.
