The Yukon Business Nominee Program is designed to attract and retain skilled international entrepreneurs to add diversity and innovation to Yukon’s economy.
The process and criteria have been revised. Please consult the Yukon Business Nominee Program Policy for details.
Businesses must belong to eligible sectors, and may be startups or purchased. In all cases, the nominee must operate the business. No passive investments are allowed.
Nominees receive support for a two-year work permit, during which time they are to establish themselves, their family and their business in Yukon. At the end of the permit period, nominees who meet the requirements will be supported by Yukon in their application to Canada for Permanent Residency.
To apply, print and fill out the Yukon Business Nominee Program application form and return to us by mail or in person. Only original, signed copies are accepted. You can expect to hear from us in 8 to 10 weeks.
Applications that meet our requirements (in principle) are placed in a pool from which we select potential candidates. Your application will not be held longer than six months.
Only candidates selected from the pool will be asked to submit documents to verify the information contained in the original application. If the assessment of the documentation is favorable, the candidate is invited to an in-person interview in Yukon.
If we are satisfied with your suitability and your business proposal after the interview, we approve your participation in the Yukon Business Nominee Program and support you in acquiring a work permit from Canada to begin your new venture in Yukon.
