MacBride Museum Society

MacBride Museum of Yukon History is hiring a Daily Programmer to deliver programs and activities to museum visitors and school groups over the summer. This job will run for 16 weeks from May 6 to August 25, 2018. This job will include some evenings and weekends. Duties include delivering daily programs and hands-on activities to visitors, groups and students, working in the front of the house and providing a variety of interpretive tours. The successful candidate will enjoy interacting with people and have an interest in Yukon history. Pharmacy Assistant
Medicine Chest Pharmacy

The Pharmacy Assistant will work directly with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to support the smooth operation of a busy retail pharmacy. Pharmacists at the Medicine Chest Pharmacy on Ogilvie provide diverse pharmaceutical services, including medication management and patient teaching. The pharmacy assistant will have an opportunity to observe this complex and rewarding process, in order to further inform future career decisions. Customer service activities will primarily include helping customers in person and on the phone, delivering medications directly to customers, and inventory control. Technical duties include processing prescriptions, preparing and packaging medications, recordkeeping and billing.

Field of study:
Completion of second year or higher in Sciences OR Pharmacy

The Communications Coordinator will be part of the Northwestel Communications team, and will support communications across several channels, including news media, the website, social media, and community events. The position will also support internal communications to employees across Northern Canada and contribute to the Community Investment Program which supports not-for-profit organizations across the North.

This position will give an engineering student exposure to various telecommunication sites and roles in northern Canada. The successful candidate will collect data from various sites either through technicians, project managers, or site visits and update equipment and circuit records. May require some travel. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and other tools is an asset. Possible opportunity to work with ArcGIS data and systems. Possible opportunity to create Python script for data presentation.

The Government and Indigenous Relations Assistant will work directly with the Government Relations leads at Northwestel to gain a strong understanding of the public and private sectors in the North. The incumbent will have the opportunity to lead and support Government Relations initiatives including, but not limited to: updating and enhancing the community resource guide, government contacts and event databases; supporting relationships and partnerships building; coordinating meetings and community engagement activities; preparing correspondence; participate in community outreach events and initiatives, researching government priorities and programs, strategic planning and other administrative support, as required. The incumbent will build a strong understanding of Northern Government including Federal, Territorial, Indigenous and Municipal, as well as enhanced knowledge on Northern history culture, geography and governance, including Land Claims.

You will be assisting in the development of product briefs and competitive overviews. You will provide project management support to the entire Product Management group.

Software and Data Analytics Development Student
Northwestel

The Student will play a significant role in the development of software used by that Enterprise Marketing and Carrier Services groups, and will be involved in multiple projects over the term.  The focus of the position will be on the continued development of an internal data analytics platform used for analyzing telecommunications data. The Student will be expected to contribute to the expansion of platform functionality and interface. The Student will work with internal stakeholders to gather and document requirements and develop software using the Python programming language and select libraries (e.g. jupyter notebook, Pandas).  The Student will update platform documentation and provide training to internal stakeholders on platform enhancements.  The student will be provided with Python training if required.
